In my life, I have parents, uncles, aunts and everyone giving advice to me since childhood to be a good girl, smart student, nice, kind, and hardworking and so on. Even we just have three people; my parents and I, but every person in my family; were such nice and good adviser to me. They always scolded me if I did mistakes but I knew they loved me more!.
The person who inspired me was my late step grandfather brother; I called him as Ayah (mother's side). He was so nice and treated me as his own grandchild. His wife is Mak and they had three children which are Syo, Ya, Cu. Started from my primary; Ayah always took care of me, fetching me from schools, tuition, extra classes, and so on. Ayah still working on JKR's department and Mak was a housewife. If I had classes in the evening, Ayah will fetch me and send me to my house. Sometimes in weekend, I slept at their house just to be around with Ayah. Sometimes, the three siblings were envy to me and they knew Ayah loved me. That time, Syo got offer letter to continue his studies in USM Pulau Pinang. After three years, he had graduation day so we three families; Ayah's family, my uncle's and my family went there with van to join him on his Graduation Day. During that time, I was in Form One; Ayah had spoken to me, "Ain, one day you will be here." That time, I had realized Ayah totally wanted me to be a successful person. Started from that, I made him as inspiration to myself. A few years later, Ya had her graduation and Ayah stilled spoke to me similar to Syo's graduation. Same goes to Cu's; Ayah still spoke to me like that. After that, I had my SPM results; it was not good enough. Everyone was upset with me except Ayah. He said, "It is okay, next time try harder". That time was sad moment to me because I had disappointed them especially my mom and Ayah.
I had continued my foundation in Selangor and also Ya had been offered to pursue her masters level in UK on 2009. During departure; Ayah spoke to me again and he said "Later, I would like to send you in this gate". I heard and replied to him "Yes, you will send me". I cried and cried the whole night. Ya completed her Master and that time I was in my degree level. I remembered Ayah totally proud with me and he cried during my registration day. End of 2010, we went to Sabah to meet Syo because he was teaching there.
After a while, we had discovered Ayah had tuberculosis (TB) and his lungs were not well-functioned. Middle 2010, Ya got married and the reception was awesome because Ayah had sang a few songs to us. We were delighted looking him that time. Even he sick, but he did not showed to us at all. Ya and her husband stayed in KL due to their working places. Early April 2011, Ya gave birth her first daughter in Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM). Ayah and Mak totally excited with their first grandchild. They went back to Terengganu and Ayah was happy to play and accompanied his grandchild.
After that, he started to badly cough and cough and cough until he was admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU). We were sad and afraid might something bad happened to him. However, our God loved him more; 30th April 2011, the doctors had confirmed he was gone. At night, I heard the news and said to my mom, "I want to go home". That time, I was in the middle of examination week. That night; my grandma, Ya's husband and I rushed back to Terengganu and reached there around 8 a.m. I started to cry when I saw his body lying there. I recited Yassin, prayers and hugged my mom and cried loudly. Everyone was gloom and sad looking him. I could not see him at all. I said to my mom, 'He did not send me yet" and my mom replied "Fulfill his wish". Currently, I further my Masters level, on my registration day; I had spoken to Mak, "I can feel he is here". Mak just smiled to me. One day I will depart to continue my Phd to fulfill Ayah's wishes. I always remind myself Ayah is looking from there hence I have to try harder and harder to make sure he proud with me! I love you, Ayah!
